Special Issue Introduction
Dear Colleague,
The spread of COVID19 across the globe has caused unspeakable grief and suffering to millions of people. It has also impacted the care and outcomes for cancer patients. I want to invite you to join me in developing a Special Issue for the Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment devoted to the issues of Lung Cancer Metastasis and Treatment under the Epidemic of COVID-19.
Among the topics I wish to cover are the impacts of COVID-19 on the diagnosis and evaluation of lung cancer, systemic treatments, therapeutic radiation, surgery, and palliative care of metastatic lung cancer.
This list of general topics is neither exhaustive nor finalized. I value suggestions on important topics, particularly those that will better define the intersection of the pandemic and lung cancer whether it is at the bench, bedside, or end of life. This Special Issue should stand as a reference for our colleagues in both the ongoing care and future research on this important topic.
Expecting you to join me in addressing this important topic that is now defining our practice of thoracic oncology.
